Our first big topic will focus on Africa, particularly Kenya. To start we will learn about Wangarii Maathai, famous for planting trees to revitalize the environment. She later became a nobel peace prize winner. Then we will all get a tree seedling to plant! One extra seedling will be planted at the school so we can monitor the progress. Hopefully you will be able to plant your child's seedling as a family and watch its' growth at home. Let me know if this is not possible and we will plant it here.
